hey there.
At Nouriva, we keep it real, honest, and human. I help people slow down, reconnect with themselves, and rebuild a healthier, calmer relationship with food, emotions, and their bodies.
What I Can Help You With
You’re in the right place if you’re ready to…
Break free from chaotic or confusing eating habits
Build a calmer, kinder relationship with food and your body
Create sustainable weight management routines (without shame or overwhelm)
Heal patterns like emotional eating, stress eating, or “start-over-Monday” cycles
Navigate eating behaviors after bariatric surgery
Understand why you eat the way you do and learn what to do next
This is where your relationship with food becomes clearer, steadier, and more aligned with the life you want.
Meet Alicia, your partner in nourished change
I’m a licensed counselor who blends mental health counseling and weight management expertise to help you build a calmer, more connected relationship with food and your body.
I’ve been known to reorganize a pantry “just for fun,” but I’m practicing letting the snacks live wherever they want especially with two little boys, a law-enforcement family schedule that laughs at predictability, and a coffee habit that keeps me caffeinated enough to release control (just a little).
I’m not the clipboard-and-white-coat kind of therapist. I’m the:
“take a breath, settle in, let’s talk” kind
“it’s okay if you cry or laugh or do both” kind
“we’re figuring this out together” kind
I specialize in supporting people who are tired of feeling at war with themselves whether that’s emotionally, physically, or both. If you’ve ever felt like stress hijacks your decisions, or like your relationship with food or your body is more complicated than it “should” be you’re in the right place.
I bring professional training in mental health counseling, integrative mind-body work, and a deeply weight-neutral, compassion-first approach but I also bring warmth, humor when appropriate, and genuine care.
Working with me often feels like:
having a soft landing place to unpack what’s going on
being supported by someone who’s real, not robotic
remembering that you don’t have to carry everything alone
slowly building a kinder inner voice
I’m not here to “fix” you because you’re not broken. My job is to help you understand yourself, reconnect to your body, and build a sustainable relationship with your emotions and habits.
You don’t have to perform wellness here. You just get to be human.

Yep, everything happens virtually. We meet through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform (SimplePractice), and you’ll get your own client portal where you can fill out forms, manage appointments, and join sessions with just a click. Cozy, private, and from your own space.
-
I’m not in-network with insurance, but I can provide a detailed receipt (called a Superbill) if you’d like to submit it for potential reimbursement. Just know that coverage for online therapy varies by plan, some cover it, some don’t, so it’s always good to check with your provider ahead of time.
-
We take it slow. We chat about what’s bringing you here, what’s feeling hard, and what you want to work toward. I’ll ask some questions to get to know your story, and together we’ll set some gentle, realistic goals for our work.
This is a zero-pressure zone, no perfect explanation required.

Not at all. While I do have training and experience in weight-related care, emotional eating, and bariatric support, I also work with clients navigating:
anxiety
stress
self-esteem
identity
relationship challenges
emotional regulation
body image
… and just the general messy, human experience.
If it’s weighing on your mind or heart, it belongs here.

Just click “Contact” and send over a little info. I’ll reach out within 24 hours to schedule a free, easygoing 15-minute video consult, just a human-to-human conversation to see if this feels like a good match.
-
There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline. Some people pop in for a few months for targeted support; others stay longer for deeper exploration and ongoing grounding. We’ll tune it to what you need, not what a generic timeline says.

The best way is to meet. That first free consultation is where we get past the awkward intros, feel out the connection, and see if my style aligns with what you’re looking for.
And if I’m not the right person for you, I’ll do my best to point you toward someone who might be.
